2nd Vice President - Mike Leech

I have been with Rössing Uranium since 1982 – over 24 years now, apart from three very interesting and enjoyable years spent at Anglesey Aluminium, in Wales, as their Commercial Director. Working for a smelting company widened my experience greatly especially as they are a very cost conscious business.

My wife and I are born Zimbabweans but having been in Namibia nearly 30 years and are now true-blue Namibians.

My experience at Rössing began in the accounting field (I am a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, FCIS) as mining accountant, followed by a series of positions in the finance / commercial line. I was the General Manager Commercial from October 2001 until August 2004. Directly before that I held the post of Financial Director and was based in Windhoek from Nov 1999 to 2001. I was appointed Managing Director on 14 September 2004. Aside from my natural financial interest I am a very strong believer in safety as a natural part of efficient processes in all we do.
